Do you recognize the lady on the left?
Its Diana Gabaldon

For those of you are familiar with Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series, I know you have been waiting as eagerly for her latest book in the series, An Echo in the Bone. It finally arrived in bookstores on September 22nd, and I immediately checked her website to see if her book signing tour would bring her anywhere near my home town. I’m happy to say it did! On September 27th, she was in Asheville, NC, only a few hours drive away. My sister Phyllis, and niece Cassie, made the trip with me and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Malaprops Bookstore sponsored the event at the Diane Wortham Theatre in uptown Asheville. Diana came on stage at 7pm and spoke for 25 to 30 minutes about how she began her writing career, how she gets her inspirations for her characters and story lines, and how she writes…not in a chronological fashion, but often times just what comes to her at the moment, then she fits the ‘pieces’ into the overall story.

After she spoke, she took questions from the audience for another 25 minutes and then moved to the theatre lobby for the actual book signing. She also allowed pictures, that I’m happy to share with you.
